If technology lets us redesign ourselves, w̴h̵a̷t̸ ̶ will we choose to b̶e̷c̸o̷m̴e̵?

Humanity has always been i̸n̷̐ ̴tr̷an̷s̷̆͜i̷̾t̶̙̀i̵̱̊ȍ̴̠ṉ̵́.

We modify our bodies and reinvent our identities to suit ourselves better…

We (mentally) create new versions of ourselves and then ḇ̷̂͋͘r̵̤̪̘͗į̶̛̏̓͐ň̵̝̄̐͗͝g th̴̨̋̈́̎͠e̵͎̲͎̱̭̿̀m t̷̆̋̊͘ò̵͘ li̷̊̊̎̚͠fe̸̐.

Today, technology has become another tool of transformation.

Our online identities are as shaped by our decisions as they are by the digital ecosystem in which they’re embedded … Digital avatars designed as a customizable gateway between self and (public) perception. In the so-called “real world” we sculpt and shape our bodies using a variety of biological and technological tools to craft our own synthesis between our inner and outer worlds.

The boundaries between the natural and artificial are becoming increasingly ŭ̴͐̕ǹ̷̌s̷̛̅͑t̷͗ã̵̱̣̱̤b̶l̷e̵̛.

For this episode of TECHNOSEXUAL, we invite artists to explore Transhumanism not merely as an evolutionary juxtaposition between the biological and the technological, but as a deeply personal and h̸ǘ̸̕͝m̶͛͝a̷͠n̶  question of ̴̎sḛ̴̀͗lf-cr̸e̷͖̓ả̵̢̦ti̶̜͂o̵̝̿͘͘ń̶͍̹̼.

Think about it,

Who are we when identity/ies and bodies are fl̸͒u̸͠iḏ̸͋̀?

How is identity shaped by the body and by environment?

What happens to consciousness when the body and the identity housed within it become increasingly… ë̵̍d̴̔̏it̷a̵̢͝bl̶̒e̵͇͘ͅ?

Where is the line between consciousness, identify, and expression? (is there one at all?)

What happens to us gender, appearance, memory, desire, and even mortality become matters of design rather than destiny?

Tr̴͊ans̸h̴͂û̷̽m̶̀͜a̵̱͖̔̀̀n̴̲͆ity* is a state of being that moves beyond inherited limitations and rejects the idea that the current version of ourselves is the final one.

We seek creative works that explore transformation, augmentation, liberation, mutation, becoming, and the endlessly radical possibilities of self-creation.
