The artist known by many names—Ross, Rob, Frank, Stone, Burger, Mochi, and most recently, Salty—reflects a restless search for identity in both name and artistic expression. After nearly two decades cocooned in the safety of the tech industry, Salty abandoned the comfort of routine to pursue a life steeped in art, driven by a profound need to explore the depths of their own identity. Their work explores the raw, unfiltered aspects of human experience, from the intricacies of sexuality to the stark realities of working-class exploitation. Salty uses his art, rendered in classic mediums such as ink, charcoal, and watercolor, to uncover fragments of the self, each piece a step closer to understanding their ever-evolving identity.
